Men’s Golf Association

The Men’s Golf Association at the Wellington Golf Club organizes a full calendar of events for golfers of all abilities. It’s the perfect way to meet new people, make new friends, and enjoy some friendly competition. Every Saturday and Sunday the Men’s Club hosts a game for its members at 12:00 noon with a $20 entry fee. The Match Play Championship, Stroke Play Championship, and Men’s Night Events are also conducted for Men’s Club members.

Wellington Golf Club also hosts three, two-man team tournaments that are 2 day events and are open to any player with a USGA handicap. These events include the Wellington 4-Ball, 2-Man Shamble and 2-Man Scramble.

The Wellington Golf Club is a member of both the USGA and KGA, and provides USGA GHIN handicaps through their services for a $40 annual fee.

Women’s Golf Association

The Wellington Women’s Golf Association has regular groups playing on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings from April to October. The WWGA encourages women of all golf experience and abilities to join.  It offers a great way to meet new people, make new friends, get some exercise and enjoy some time outdoors.

The Wellington Women’s Golf Association hosts an annual 18-hole invitational Scholarship Tournament which is a 4 person scramble held in June.  This tournament raises money for our association to give multiple college scholarships to our local graduates and college students.  The WWGA also hosts monthly “Guys & Gals” tournaments with social hour and dinner following play from May-August and has a monthly “Stagette” Ladies Night event with a dinner following.  The ladies also enjoy traveling and playing in invitationals around the area. The WGC is hoping to grow the women’s association and add more individual events in the near future.

The Wellington Women’s Golf Association is a member of the KGA and offers USGA GHIN handicaps through their services for a $25 annual fee.  Come on out to golf and visit with other women and see what fun you can have!

Call (620) 326-7904 for more information about the Wellington Women’s Golf Association.

Junior Golf

Wellington Golf Club has a great tradition with junior golf. There have been numerous Kansas State High School Champions in both team and individual competition and Kansas Golf Association individual champions that have honed their skills at the Wellington Golf Club.  WGC currently hosts Junior Tournaments for the Kansas Junior Golf Association, Wellington High School, Wellington Middle School along with two events of it’s own, the Wellington Junior Championship and the Parent-Child Championship.

To help get junior players on the road to success, the Wellington Golf Club offers multiple junior clinics throughout the Sumer. Ages 6-12 can participate in our June and July seesions which are two days a week for three weeks along with giving junior players regular access to the course. Junior golfers age 13-17 are offered a Summer-long program which allows them more time with instructors to improve and stay active througout the year.

The Wellington Golf Club has two membership plans just for junior players and also offers a reduced daily junior green fee rate.

Call (620) 326-7904 or email benheasty@cityofwellington.net for more information or to sign up for the Junior Golf Clinic.
